Carpet Tiles

The new craze in the carpeting industry is carpet tiles.

But, what are carpeting tiles?

They are small squares of carpet that fit together to make one sweeping floor cover for your home or office.

Why are they so popular?

One of the main issues leveled against carpet as a flooring option is its tendency to soak up spills and stain permanently. Or, if not stain permanently, carpeting may require professional carpet professionals to treat the carpet with special solutions and vacuums.

However, with carpet tiles, if red wine ends up on an egg-shell white carpet - it can simply be swapped out. That is, if only a handful of tiles are blemished, you can simply throw those ones away and buy new ones.

This means that costly vacuums and specialized chemical treatments are not the only line of defense in saving a carpet. This saves the consumer considerable capital because investment in such carpet maintenance products can cost several hundred dollars. The price of a few carpet tiles, even with high quality carpeting, is likely to be less pricey.

Furthermore, it really would be a shame to have to get rid of a 250 sq. ft. carpet that cost your 800 dollars because only a few squares inches are ruined.

Pricing for square tiles is not particularly more expense than for regular solid sheet carpeting either. So you are not paying more now to pay less later – you are paying less now and less later when you buy carpet tiles. No doubt about it.

The tiles come in virtually any color, pattern, or motif. Looking to make your pad a love den? Go with leopard skin-styled squares. Or, try using zebra stripes instead. Want to design your own carpet tiles? You can. There are several companies out there that will take an idea, imagine or drawing and turn it into flooring. This may be a little more money, but getting exactly what you want is priceless isn’t it?

Plus, they hold up to the wear and tear of everyday business or home life just the same. In the office people walk back and forth on a carpet day in and day out. The heat from your computers, fax and copy machines is partially absorbed into the carpet. People spill juice and coffee all too often. Desk chairs roll repeatedly over the surface of your floor. The wear and tear is not much more forgiving at home, especially if one has kids and/or pets. So, with all these considerations in mind, it’s good to know that carpet tiles have proven themselves durable.

Another benefit of carpet tile is if you ever decide to move the carpet from one room to another, or from one office building to another, it is easily broken down and transported. This is unlike singular carpets which tend to be burdensome to move because of their shear size and weight.

Worried that people will notice your carpet is in pieces? Don't.

When properly installed by professionals the outcome is seamless. It looks just as stunning as any other carpet on the market.
